Handicraft- Felt Mini-Pocket Pattern

Ian (age 9) made this cute little pocket today. It took him about 20 minutes.
This was his very first sewing attempt.

He has been wanting to learn to sew. I came up with this quick and easy project with some left over felt. We used a blanket stitch, but you could practice other stitches with this project.

Materials:

  • pattern (below)
  • stiff felt
  • scissors
  • needle
  • thread (we used thick thread and a larger needle point needle)
  • large button
