The boys carved the pumpkins they found at Linder Farms into some adorable Jack-O-Lanterns. This year they all did about 85% of the work. In past years we have done most of the actual work involved while they were just project managers. We told them to keep the designs simple so they would be successful. The finished faces have a cartoon quality to them. They turned out great!!
Ian got some small gourds and created this guard guy. He is so proud of it. He is a vampire gourd so we named him Count Gourdula.

The first frost was today. All my pumpkin leaves died and I can see what our harvest will be.
I am going to start warming up the oven for some baking.
The boys Halloween costumes are almost finished.
All the Halloween decorations are hung up.
Tree leaves are turning colors.
Hot Chocolate sounds yummy.
I broke out my boots and sweaters and put them in my closet.
I am looking forward to my favorite season!
We had our yearly excursion to
Linder Farms this past week. We went as part of a homeschool fieldtrip set up by another homeschooling mother. It's been our fall tradition for about 4 years now.
Out at the farm, they have added a few things, like these climbing tires Josef and Ian scaled.
We also took advantage of the new photo oppurtunity.
The Corn Box was a hit! The boys even buried Ammeme.
Everyone (including me) found that perfect pumpkin to take home to carve later.
So what are some of your favorite Fall traditions?
We went to
Linder Farms for a pumpkin patch fieldtrip set up by another homeschool mom in our charter school
IDEA. Levi's parents joined us and we set out on a farm adventure. We got a little snack of popcorn and juice boxes, set out on a wagon ride, and then visited the petting zoo area to feed some cute animals. Next, we headed out to the pumpkin fields and on the way they did a little hay maze and then set out to search for that perfect pumpkin.
It was great afternoon!
