Some of us are hopeless...

....romantics.

I just saw a preview for this movie and fell in love with it.

Check out the trailers and things here.

FYI: It has a sad ending-expect tears

Bright Star
Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art —
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like Nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors —
No — yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever — or else swoon to death.

Past Tense

Past Tense

Once upon a time
The future seemed far off in the distance
We listened to them complain
How time flies by so quickly
Then we were there, so suddenly
We hardly knew how we’d gotten here
Couldn’t help but look behind us
Just to check
Where did the time go?
It had been used up so thoroughly
Unchangeable and permanent
We turned around and looked forward
Straight past the horizon
To the new future
We’d be more careful with this one
Plan-Prepare-Organize-Prioritize
Only to realize
What is a future
Without today ?
Only a moment in passing

Poetry: Cinquain

Niagara

by Adelaide Crapsey
Seen on a Night in November

How frail
Above the bulk
Of crashing water hangs,
Autumnal, evanescent, wan,
The moon.

    Move Along

    Move Along

    I’ve been craning my head
out the window for some time now
               gawking at my life
                   like a roadside accident.

The shadowy figures of my past
          waving their arms at me
               as if to say-
“Move along, there’s nothing to see here.”

    Open-hearted

    Open-hearted

    I cannot touch your heart
Seemingly just out of my reach
I had thought for some time now
    That I’d held it
    Safe within my clinched fingers
    I’d held it tightly
    Warm
    Passionate
    All mine
Strange, as your affections seemed to cool
I could feel my hands empty
Reflexively I grabbed at your heart
    Losing all control
It fell through my fingers like sand
And I was left with dust
    Blown about in the wind
I am anchored to this place
Your heart was just passing through

    How Long

    How Long

I can hear the tick of the clock
    Too close to my head
    It’s giving me a headache
    To think of all the
    Tick Tocks I’ve ever heard
    Only a second counted,
    Now, didn’t it?
Once long ago it was like
A bomb went off inside of me
    And everyone left
Wish I could have withstood the blast
    Instead
I shattered like an ordinary sheet of glass
Wishing I could put it all back together
    I wish I could lie
    And I wish I didn’t care
    But wishes don’t count
    When
I can hear the tick of that clock
    Still close to my head
Maybe if I couldn’t hear the seconds pass
    I wouldn’t have to ask
    How long...
    Till I feel whole again

    Into Depression

    Into Depression

    Overwhelmed
    Defeated
    Abandoned
    Alone
    Lost hope
    No Strength
    Beyond
    Inward
    Despondent
    Small
    Defensive
    Angry
    Sigh
    Pushed
    Cry
    Empty

    Life...

    Life...

    Life
    Seems adrift
It takes such patience to get through it.
    Life
    Meanders for no apparent reason.
It's layered upon itself until you can't find the beginning or the end.
    Life
    Problems and lost time.
    Life
A blank book to fill up, yet short enough to read on the beach.
    Life
    Still living it

    Lost Hope

    Lost Hope

    Hope
         Washed up on the beach
                 Gleaming in the sand
    Looked funny
                           lost

    Anniversaries

Like peering into some 5th grade Diorama
The house lit up like a Jack-O-lantern
    Smiling at the night
    In one window
The old man sits in his chair watching TV
    In another window
The old lady is at the sink washing dishes
    Between them- the years
    The years have settled in
The good ones, the bad ones
    Love went from boiling
    To simmering
To a stagnate pot of water
    Forgotten on the stove
And yet there is warmth there
    An assurance
    That in one window
At 8 pm he will still be sitting in that chair
    Watching the TV
    In another window
She will be at the kitchen sink
    Washing dishes
    The Routine
At 9pm she will appear in his window
    Gently nudge him awake
She will take his hand and help him from the chair
And together they will walk upstairs
Lay down in the bed they have always shared
    Nestle into one another
    And sleep
The way they have for 45 years
The comfort, the routine, the assurance
Are the harvest of true love

    Give Me Rest

    Give me Rest

O come to me blessed sleep
Send your languid breath of dream
    To drown my weary head
    Carry me to other shores
The comfort of my soul to keep
Far from the pain of this day

    Quiet

    It is quiet
    I can hear my soul
    Trying to speak to me
    I almost want to
    Turn on the radio
    Just to drown it out
    Because I'm afraid
Of what it might have to say

    Lifeless

    By A. Hunt

    Lifeless

    I feel like a puppet
    Dangling lazily from strings
    Mechanical movements
    And hollow dreams
    A sense of emptiness
    In my mahogany heart
    In my ply wood soul
    Breathe in
    Breathe out
    Paralyzed sense of hope
    My eyes have become mimes
    Signing out my true intents
    To a Blind audience
    I long for something more
More then the life I’m living
    As deaths whore
Heavy drops of rain fall from the ceiling
As the blue blue sea of the floor below
    Carry me away
    In a sleepless dream
    I break the silence
    By acknowledging the pain
    That slowly drives me insane
As I sit upon this shelf
    A puppet
    Dangling from strings
    Lifeless

    DEATH

    DEATH
    by April Mitchell © 2009

    Regardless of all the complexities
There is a subtle frailty to humanity
    The loss of a life
    The loss of any life
Cuts us to the very core
It pierces our being to the soul
It is felt only in emptiness
    A void
    A loss
    Life once here
    Touchable
    Is gone
Like a blown out candle flame

    Together

    Together

    my hand touches yours
    yours presses against mine
then we wrap our fingers about our hands
we hold on to one another in this way
subtly we are giving and taking
    as we sit there
    waiting
my heart fills and empties with you
    your love like a breathe
    slow, steady, rhythmic
you rise and I place my other hand in yours
you pull me up and place your arm around my waist
    you steady me
I bring my arm atop your strong shoulder
    and we begin to move
our feet together and then apart
    I follow your lead
    then suddenly spin off
I return and you are there
    we sway side to side
    we take one step forward
    two steps backward
again and again we dance on
time flows around us like a swift stream
    blue, cold, constant
behind us, we can barely see where we began
    you suddenly stop our movement
placing your hands along my face
you whisper, your breathe hot and sweet on my face
    "everything will be OK."
    and time stops
    we are there again
    in the waiting room
    waiting

    Love

    Love
by April Mitchell Copy Right 1996

    I wonder...
    Do I love you?
    Or merely the idea-
The idea that If I love you,
I am assured a love in return.
Then the pain of loving you
Is somehow softend by that knowledge.
And it proves that I must
    Truely
    Love you

    A Journey into NOW
    Embracing rare moments of joy
    Learning from survival
    Seeing the forever in it
    The familiararity of the old
The fearful certainty of the new
    Nothing permanent
    But the CHANGE

    Ode to Laundry

    Laundry, Laundry, Laundry
    The never ending chore
When you think you’ve washed the last load
You find another pile on the floor.

    Road Hazard

    Road Hazard

    Reaching out
    For comfort, for warmth
    Chest bared, heart wide-open
    I lay before you
    Waiting
    Vulnerable
    You casually step over me
    So not to trip
