FOR TODAY August 13th...

Outside my window... squirrels are eating and its sunny.
I am thinking...maybe I should take a nap.
I am thankful for...my husband who works so far away sometimes, I know he misses us.
From the learning rooms...I'm trying not to think about school today, my brain is resting.
From the kitchen...HA! I am not cooking today either. Took the kids to Sizzler to use their free kids meal coupons.
I am wearing...ponytail, t-shirt and yoga pants, bare feet
I am creating...peace and relaxation.
I am going...to run many errands tomorrow.
I am reading ...The Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens

I am hoping... to get lots done tomorrow.
I am hearing...The boys move playing in the next room.
Around the house...we need to pick up a bit -but hey! We live here ya know!
One of my favorite things...lazy Sunday afternoons and NAPS!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Monday-errands and doctors apts, Tuesday-Homeschool PE and, FHE,  Cub scouts, Wednesday- Idaho Reading Indicators Testing, Thursday-Pokemon Club, Friday-TGIF!, Saturday-Is all mine!, Sunday-Church

A Simple Womans Daybook


FOR TODAY February 2nd...

Outside my window... The sun is shining, sparkly on the snow covered field. The boys are wondering around with the dogs.

I am thinking... I have gotten so much done today-wohoo!

I am thankful for...my family

From the learning rooms...we've already done most of school today. Ian says he loves his new handwriting book, because he read the note to the student in the front and Jan Olsen told him he could color the pictures if he wanted.

From the kitchen...we just had chilli and Amish Friendship Bread, I am planning on making Lasagna for dinner and Ceasar Salad.

I am wearing...no make-up, hair in a ponytail,red t-shirt, black yoga pants, tennis shoes

I am creating...a new blog called Homeschool Idaho

I am going...no where today, Levi will be home around 5 and then we will have FHE and play SpaceAge Reality

I am reading...just finished The Independence of Mis Mary Bennet by Colleen McCullough. And reading Shiloh to the boys at night.

I am hoping...to have the house all organized by Spring so I can focus on my garden.

I am hearing... the boys helping Ian write a story in his notebook.

Around the house...Laundry is going in the washer and dryer, Oliver is building a train town in his room, Josef, Ian and Kaleb are on my bed writing stories and drawing pictures.

One of my favorite things...easy to cook meals!

A Simple Womans Daybook


FOR TODAY January 26th...

Outside my window...it is bright and sunny and the snow is melting, drip, drip, drip. There is hope for spring.

I am thinking...so much to do, where to begin.

I am thankful for...The warm, warm sun.

From the learning rooms...we aren't doing school today, Levi is home for his day off playing with the boys. I've been getting some lesson organized.

From the kitchen...we are eatting all the leftovers in the fridge and my Amish Friendship bread starter is sitting on the counter.

I am wearing...t-shirt, capris, and bare feet

I am creating...a pleasant calm home for my myself and my family

I am going...to need to return movies today in town and maybe take a few moments for me at a little shop.

I am reading...lesson manuals

I am hoping...for the sun to stay a while and warm us up.

I am hearing... Ingrid Michealson sing Breakable on Pandora Radio.

Around the house... the boys are busy playing and talking with their Dad.

One of my favorite things...cuddling cats, who purr.

FOR TODAY January 19...

Outside my window...everything is cold and frozen, the dog is curled up on the front porch for a nap, little sparrows have stopped at my feeder for lunch.

I am thinking...I will be glad when my taxes are done.

I am thankful for...my husband, who comes home and pitches in 100%

From the learning rooms...Kaleb is at the kitchen table working on his place value.

From the kitchen...a yummy stew is cooking and rolls are rising.

I am wearing...jeans, t-shirt, and an apron

I am creating...tatted edging

I am going...no where today, just being a home-body

I am reading...Leigh by Lyn Cote

I am hoping...for my cold to clear up and to-do list to be done

I am hearing...silence, Levi took the other boys to the store-so it is just me and Kaleb

Around the house...it looks lived in but not too messy

One of my favorite things...my cozy spot on the couch under the reading lamp

A few plans for the rest of the week: Tuesday-Scouts, Wednesday-Trip to Boise for boys IRI's, and portfolio meetings, sleep over at Grandma and Grandpas, Thursday-town stuff,Friday-home stuff Saturday-My B-day!, Sunday-Church

A Simple Womans Daybook


FOR TODAY January 12...

Outside my window...Shooter our Chesapeake Bay Retriver is barking madly at some animal near the river, there is lots of snow still on the ground, but the sky is blue with fluffy clouds.

I am thinking...Levi will be home soon, we haven't seen him except for one day since Christmas, it will be nice to have him home.

I am thankful for...Jane Austen books, a little escape from modern real life.

From the learning rooms...err, we are falling behind again. I don't think we will do the Charter School next year, to much pressure to push the kids through each grade level- hurry up a learn, test, test, test. I look forward to trying the Charlotte Mason method of educating next year, I have been researching it for years and now that we live in the country with the river in our back yard it would be a perfect time.

From the kitchen...a sink full of dirty dishes is not inspiring me to cook anything today.

I am wearing...my pj's still. Should get dressed before Levi get here...lol.

I am creating...some tatted lace edging for a handkerchief.

I am going...to find some motivation, hurry and tidy up the house, get dressed and great my sweet husband when he comes home in his big red truck.

I am reading...a sad little Young Adult book called You Know Where to Find Me by Rachel Cohn

I am hoping...we have a nice visit with Levi, and we can send him off with pleasant memories of home.

I am hearing...a little three year old voice, saying " I 'ink Molly want in" calling in our black lab dog from outside.

Around the house... things are strewn about, laundry needs folded, lots of work waiting to be done.

One of my favorite things...sleeping in.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Library today, Scouts on Tuesday, Levi leaves on Wednesday, Visiting Teaching on Wednesday, Bunco on Thursday, Church on Sunday and a call from my Dad in Florida

Outside my window...snow is falling yet again this winter

I am thinking...I need to get the boys School Portfolios organized

I am thankful for...my warm home

From the learning rooms...we just finished working on math

From the kitchen...we just ate the cookies warm out of the oven

I am wearing...White t-shirt and black yoga capris

I am creating...a mess in the kitchen today

I am going...to finish this Porfolio Project so I am not so stressed out

I am reading...nothing right now except the occassional blog

I am hoping...my life will calm down and be normal

I am hearing..the boys playing in their rooms

Around the house...the ceiling fan is whiring

One of my favorite things...warm cookies fresh from the oven
